Description Mick 2007-10-26 02:27:39 UTC
My router is assigning an I.P. address to the Jive remote.

When I look at the list of clients in my Belkin routers admin pages, the Jive shows up as "null," , MAc addr, i.p. assigned.

Not a high priority, but it would be useful for the remote to properly supply it's network name when making the DHCP request.

I'm not sure if this might affect having multiple Jive's on the same network.
Comment 1 Richard Titmuss 2008-01-11 06:13:00 UTC
Moving to 7.0.1.
Comment 2 Brandon Black 2008-02-21 14:42:10 UTC
Jives actually get names on SqueezeNetwork when you register with the PIN, and this name is persistent in the played editing interfaces, etc. Not sure if there is any equivalent in SC. We should be able to send such a name back to jive for it to use as a hostname when talking to dhcp servers. Definitely not an important item though.
Comment 3 Richard Titmuss 2008-06-09 09:56:16 UTC
Fixed in r2551, SqueezeboxController is sent as the hostname to the dhcp server. You can edit /etc/hostname on the device to customize the devices name.

In future versions of SqueezeCenter should allow the Controller name to be set, and this will then be used. Assigning to Ben for this enhancement.
Comment 4 Richard Titmuss 2008-07-24 01:20:12 UTC
We won't have time for this in 7.2, marking as 7.3 enhancement.
Comment 5 Richard Titmuss 2008-08-18 02:12:37 UTC
r2551 is now reverted, due to bug 8984.
Comment 6 Ben Klaas 2008-11-02 12:54:44 UTC
this isn't going to be fixed by 7.3. retarget for 7.3.1
Comment 7 James Richardson 2008-12-19 08:00:49 UTC

Moving to the product SqueezePlay because this bug appears to apply to any player based on that application code. Feel free to move it back if it's specific to the single original product.
Comment 10 Richard Titmuss 2009-07-27 01:13:01 UTC
Reset priority before triage.
Comment 11 Ben Klaas 2009-08-26 07:50:24 UTC
this is an administrative shuffle on priority fields to help make better judgment on the top end of the priority list. P4->P5, P3->P4, and P2->P3.
