Bugzilla – Bug 9665
squeezeplay shouldn't bomb on Vista if admin mode isn't on
Last modified: 2008-12-15 12:08:07 UTC
When running SP in Vista, an error occurs if it's not 'run as admin' even if logged in with an admin level account.
Reasons why SP currently wants elevated access * writing to "program files" dir - being addressed in bug 9823 * Something about keyboard input (possibly only on vista x64) -see bug 9765 * other? I will be getting a vista image going with Visual Studio so I can debug specifically the reasons for elevated access.
*** Bug 9765 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
- Settings moved to user directory: %HOMEPATH%/.squeezeplay/userpath - console output moved to user directory: %HOMEPATH%/.squeezeplay/stderr.txt and stdout.txt These two changes allow Vista SqueezePlay to work without admin mode on my x86 Vista image.
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already. If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
