Description Bruno Richer 2008-03-15 14:08:09 UTC
The scanner ignores folders or filenames like "ancient et médiéval". My music collection went from 30k or so files to 24k files, as french I have a lot of filenames/folders with accents.
The music files with accents are not indexed in the database (they were in version 6.5 and in first version 7.0).
Since version 7.01 beta it doesn't work. even going back to 7.0 doesn't solve the problem.
The folders with accents are visible in the music folder menu of the softsqueeze client.

It seems related to bug 6789 and/or 6754.

Feel free to ask precisions if necessary. Thank you

Sincerely

Bruno - This is the highest priority bug for me right now. Remove the following line from Slim/Utils/Prefs/Namespace.pm to get the scanning fixed:

$YAML::Syck::ImplicitUnicode = 1;

It will break using non-latin characters in the prefs, though.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
