Bugzilla – Bug 5915
Favorites that point at a URL that is invalid cannot be deleted in player UI
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:14:07 UTC
I added a favorite for testing add/delete problems. I made up some URL, and added it with a name "Test 1". When I browse to this favorite in the playerUI, I only see "ERROR (1 of 1)" "404 Not Found". There is no option to delete the favorite, or to see its name or URL.
I see an error "couldn't resolve IP address for" error in both the player and web UI song info page. That message should be there, but so should the other options.

I must be missing something, how do you add a favorite with a custom URL? Is this using the "OPML Playlist Browser & Editor"?
Nothing clever - just go to favorites in WebUI, click new favorite and enter rubbish in the new name and url fields (in fact just press Save button to store "Name" and "URL"). Then, click on the favorite (or navigate to it in PlayerUI), and see the error.
Can't reproduce this one, I added a favorite with a URL of 'Test 1' and was able to edit it and delete it.

I can add whatever url I want. And from the player interface I see the fake title. Pushing right I see the fav# plus the hint to push right to delete that favorite. But I don't see that menu option with local favorites (eg. album titles), though they work with the patch in bug 6091.
After I've delete it from the favorites, it's still in the favorites list, with the menu option to add it to the favorites... quite confusing.
