Bugzilla – Bug 15392
MySB repeats same song on Napster Radio
Last modified: 2010-06-10 14:43:28 UTC
SBS and production MySB function fine with Napster Radio
QA to try to reproduce and target
since 7.5 upgrade, Napster created playlists (example:: Billboard Top 100) repeat the same song over and over. It no longer automatically moves to the next song on the list. Not good for one's mental health!
Can confirm this, since last update to 7.5.0r8673 the Squeezebox Radio connected to Squeezenetwork repeatly plays every song in any kind of napster playlists (sometimes the first song is ok and then it start repeating second song from list and will do this for every song i manually skip to). So hearing radio this way for a longer period of time, it really can be a very monotonous experience;) Would be great if you can fix this, otherwise connecting with Napster does not make sense anymore.
I too have an issue with Napster RADIO repeating song continuous.
Just affirming the annoyance at not being able to use the playlist feature with Napster app. Can play one album at a time with account, but any feature that adds to a playlist, like radio or playlists or 'add to Now Playing' or 'Play all artist tracks', causes repeat action and severely diminishes the advantage of using Napster account with SB Boom, which was the primary purpose for which I purchased the device.
I have a problem when playing a Napster Playlist with it repeating the same song over and over.
This may be a Dup of 16108 so apologize for posting my comments on both bugs! Squeezebox Radio: 7.5.0 8673 Connected to Mysqueezebox.com (do not have a local SBS setup to test on) This one is driving us nuts in the nursery since the Napster playlist that we usually play is lullabies and we don't always notice that it is repeating the same song over and over again! It's usually the FIRST song in the playlist that repeats - I haven't confirmed if we hit Next right away if any other songs get stuck on repeat. I'll try tomorrow with a non-lullaby playlist and confirm. Playlist is started from a Preset on the Radio. Playlists are always user-created playlists on Napster.com (not a Napster-created playlist or Napster radio station). Lullaby playlist is about 100 songs in length. Also of interest is that when you go to the current playlist on the Radio, many of the songs are not filled in yet - no song titles or album art for many of the songs. They seem to gradually fill in as the first song is playing while you have the playlist screen displayed. Issue only appeared after 7.5.0 firmware downloaded to the Radio - did not notice the issue before that. Still occurs after the Mysb.com update (from 4/22) that addressed the issues noted in bug 16046.
My Squeezebox is also repeating songs being played from playlists even though the repeat songs option is not turned on (a friend of mine is experiencing the same problem). Also, when I add a playlist from the Napster Playlists into my Favourites, when I try to play it from the Favourites section I receive an Error: No items found in playlist http://notnat/api/napster/v1/opml/menu?menu=playlist.....
Neil, the second part of your note is bug 15973. Please vote for it!
Andy, I am easily able to reproduce this. I also notice that on Radio, the Now Playing screen doesn't seem to work, but if that's a separate bug, I'm happy to file it after this one gets fixed. I went to Napster -> Radio -> By Genre -> Rock -> Classic Rock Gold Usually I would listen to electronica of some kind, but it's too hard to tell when a song is repeating, especially since often there's no lyrics!
Yep this was a side-effect of the change to auto-restart radio streams. Duration was not being properly set for Napster streams.
== Auto-comment from SVN commit #30719 to the slim repo by agrundman == == http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim?view=revision&revision=30719 == Fixed bug 15392, Napster duration and reinit were not working properly
FYI: This same problem still exists on TinySC.
Yep it's a bug in 7.5, install a 7.5.1 nightly to fix it.
