Ticket 090910-001809

WNR3500
Squeezebox Duet (6038,62)

Symptom:

Squeezebox Duet will not connect to WNR3500 in bridged mode, but will connect in any other mode (hybrid, wireless).

I was able to recreate the issue here using the same Router.

Could be the same issue as in bug #9217 (Netgear WNDR3300)

Per this bug, was not able to get bridge mode to work either.

Thanks,

LaRon

Ross: Please work with LaRon and verify this is still an issue with current 7.3.3 and fixed in 7.4

messages log during failed bridged setup.

Still fails with 7.4. Controller gives problem connecting error and receivers icon stays yellow.

Hmm, I am surprised it worked when you guys tried standard wired setup. Did you wire your Receiver to the same router for that test?

Anyways, I guess you are testing with a non production Receiver. They are known to have issues with the ethernet port causing auto-negotiation to fail. (I believe the magnetics are at fault.)

Could you please check if the link light comes on at all on the WNR3500?

And if not, please retry your test with a production Receiver.

Thanks
Felix

I just hammered on this a little while longer and I did finally manage to get this to work, both Receiver and Controller connected and I was prompted to update firmware, which failed.

Steven mentions bridged setup is still inconsistent at best, especially here in Mountain View.

Felix to answer your question I am seeing the link light on the router side connected from Receiver.
