Description Weldon Matt 2009-07-30 13:15:14 UTC
Need to provide a full set of proper graphics assets, including sprites, icons, gradients, containers, buttons, etc.
Comment 1 Weldon Matt 2009-08-06 17:43:09 UTC
Completed a working "master assets" file that has all the assets and sprites ready except for the "web remote" stuff (see attached). Next (tonight?), will render each piece as optimized png-8 file as appropriate.

Being cautious about burn-down because there may be gotchas before this is done...

After attaching this, I better get this done tonight, otherwise this will be torture for Michael :-)

Sent asset files to Michael, for almost everything except a refresh of web remote assets.

Leaving some hours unburned for now in case there are issues. Whew.
Comment 4 Weldon Matt 2009-08-06 21:57:03 UTC
burned 10 hrs
Comment 5 Weldon Matt 2009-08-11 15:50:01 UTC
Delivered another round of assets to michael after feedback. Some debugging time needed, and maybe another rev on tab graphics.
Comment 6 Weldon Matt 2009-08-11 15:50:21 UTC
burned 6hrs

Bumping remainder to p2. Michael has enough for release, even though I'd prefer to refresh the web remote assets if I have time

Huh? I do _not_ have the web remote assets yet. Been waiting for them ever
since we talked on the phone...

sigh...

:-)

Changed description, as only "remote control" is left. Hoping to close this today after getting some assets from Noah.

I can't remember whether we wanted to have the buttons to be dynamic (normal, mouseover, pressed, disabled). Or just one simple graphic. Or two states (normal/pressed). In this case I'd need all of the buttons in a sprite representing those states:

- play button
- volume bar (see attachment)

The following items are only needed if we want them to be dynamic as described above:

- 2x power button (on/off)
- shuffle: one file for each state of shuffle off, shuffle albums, shuffle playlist
- repeat: repeat off, repeat track, repeat list
- thumbs up/down
- volume up/down

Pat, Andy - I think we should just remove shuffle/repeat from the mysb.com web remote. We don't really have full playlist control anyway. How would the user know what playlist he's shuffling?
Comment 16 Michael Herger 2009-09-10 10:39:12 UTC
I've hidden shuffle/repeat for now.
Comment 17 Pat Ransil 2009-09-10 11:36:58 UTC
Can we change to P2? The major things have been done. More animated buttons and shuffle/repeat buttons would be nice but not really needed.

?!? After the letter I there's J, right?
Comment 19 Michael Herger 2009-10-02 00:27:02 UTC
...or we close this bug and open new individual bugs for the remaining issues (like eg. the wrong volume bar). But Kraftwerk sounds like Future to me. Too far away.
Comment 20 Weldon Matt 2009-10-06 13:08:45 UTC
Look at the time estimate. I'm just being realistic here. Doing this feature "right" is a big undertaking and I refuse to do a rush job on it AGAIN, then get blamed for a crap design.

Kraftwerk is 2 releases away. I was figuring Joplin would be our "emergency issue" / quickfix target, and Kraftwerk would be the next target afterward (which would contain new features and things we wanted to get into INXS but didn't have time).

However, no one has proposed dates (or even criteria) for what should be in the Joplin/Kraftwerk releases. Maybe a bug meeting topic?
Comment 21 Weldon Matt 2009-10-06 13:27:05 UTC
Oops, I thought this was the web remote "superbug." See 14572.

Matt Weldon isn't available to us any more. Please vote for this bug to make sure it appears in our priority list!
Comment 24 Michael Herger 2010-06-21 06:43:15 UTC
Let's close this "bug" and define new action items once marketing gives the web UI some more priority.

Feel free to file new bug reports on issues with the existing web remote.
