+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #12685 +++

Set brightness to manual.  Set as low as possible.  Pull plug & reboot.  Brightness comes back to default setting.  However, if you go into brightness setting dialog, the bar is still set low.  As soon as you touch the bar, brightness goes back to where the bar tells it to be.

as far as I am aware 12771 and 12887 are fixed.

Sue: can you please check with the latest firmware/SBS version to verify this is fixed?  Please reopen the bug if you still see the issue
