Running Squeezecenter 7.2 on my iMac...

In all of my home-installed Squeezeboxes (Classic, Boom, Duet), DRM-ed AAC tracks display alongside non-DRMed tracks. There is no distinction between the two tracks until I attempt to play a DRM-ed track. (Screenshots attached - the error is blurry but reads "Problem: Unable to Play File Type For: [Title]").

Solution: Remove these tracks from the Player UI.

Possible longer-term solution: Find a graceful way to indicate to the user within a particular list of tracks that some tracks are missing (possibly in the top line of text). But this I believe is beyond the scope of this bug.

Not sure if this requires an additional bug, but some entire iTunes playlists (such as "Movies," "Purchased," etc) probably shouldn't appear either. I got really excited when it looked like my classic would play the Big Lebowski for me! But, alas, no dice...

You wouldn't be navigating to these files using the music folder function by chance?
Comment 3 Weldon Matt 2008-09-18 15:14:51 UTC
No. Sorry, should have clarified.

Music library > Playlists > [Playlist Name] >

But I don't see why it should show up in the Music Folder either. If I can't play it, don't invite me to play it.... :)

Your right, I am able to get to drm files through iTunes playlists. Most likely a bug with the iTunes plugin.
Comment 5 Chris Owens 2008-09-22 09:23:23 UTC
So, the correct behavior is to show an abridged playlist? Will we get customers complaining that we only imported some of the tracks on their playlist?

cc'ing Alan since he's the skipping-over-tracks man.

Would you mind uploading/sending a small sample file (protected file and playlist) so I can test with?

change 23429 - don't list file types which can't be played in iTunes playlists; don't show empty iTunes playlists. This automatically covers movies too.

Verified itunes DRM files omitted from playlist and library, 7.3 - 23961.

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
