Description David Mason 2008-09-07 12:11:34 UTC
Since installing 7.2 I cannot do a "new and changed music" scan without failure. The scan stops on a .mov file. I can successfully scan with the "clear library and rescan" scan and it will successfully skip the offending file(s).

This is a big problem with me as I share my itunes dir with squeezecenter and therefore do not want to remove the offending file. Previous versions had no problem with this.

I am on Mac OS 10 but others on the forums have had similar problems on other OSes: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51902

Not sure if this is related to https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9359 or not.

This is a huge problem for me as my collection is rather large.

Steven can you have a look at this, please generate a log file.

Similar issue, but mine got stuck first on files that I had just added artwork using mp3tag, something I had done many times before. After I closed out mp3tag, a full rescan worked, but then a "new and changed music" rescan would stick on protected wma files (i.e., wma with DRM). Fortunately, I only had a few of those files and I had other copies, so deleting them fixed the problem for me. Neither of these problems existed for me in previous versions of SC.

I've same problem on a rescan after adding files. Complete new rescan do work. This issue is new after upgrading to 7.2.

Hello,

When I do a full rescan of my library, all is OK (more than 16000 files!). But, when I add a new album (mp3s or FLACs files) and try to display it via menu option "New music" after a partial rescan ("Look for new and changed music"), some songs are missing. This is systematic and can be easily reproduced. The problem occurs only with option "Look for new and changed music" because indexing a new album by displaying it via "Music folder" works fine.

My system:
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.2.1 - 23141 @ Thu Sep 11 02:07:59 PDT 2008 - Netgear RAIDiator - EN - utf8
Perl Version: 5.8.8 sparc-linux
MySQL Version: 5.0.24a-Debian_3.infrant1
Platform Architecture: sparc-linux
Hostname: ReadyNAS01

Here is what I can see in the scan log:

[08-09-12 10:07:58.2183] main::main (219) Error: Failed when running main scan: [Can't call method "content_type" on an undefined value at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Schema.pm line 1155.

I get the same problem. If I do a "new and changed music" scan the scanner stops with the schema.pm line 1155 message as posted above.

I use only MP3 and FLAC files. Problem is noticed after loading on more FLAC files. Only some of the files in each new directory are added in the scan, rest are ignored. Next scan picks up some of the others, never the whole lot.

Artwork is done via Album Art Aggregator. Suse 11, KDE 3.5 AMD 64.

Many thanks,
Tony

Scanner log file of look for new and changed music getting stuck

I see the exact same behavior that others are reporting. Scanner hits an unsupported file during a look for new and changed music and gets stuck. Not much in the log I'm afraid.
