Description Julius Dauz 2008-07-01 16:04:22 UTC
A customer wanted me to file this enhancement request.

Here is an excerpt from the initial support email he sent:

If I connect my SB directly to Squeezenetwork and want to access Shoutcast stations sorted by "Genre" I always had direct alphabetical access: press button "3" (one two or three times) to jump directly to the Genres which start with D, E or F. That does not work anymore. If I press now "3" it jumps to channel number 3, 33 or 333. Same with other numbers.

When I am connected to Squeezecenter and access Shoutcast this problem does not exist. The alphabetical access to the stations works fine.

His request is to be able to browse alphabetically through stations through Shoutcast.

Andy notes that he has in mind a rewrite of the Shoutcast plugin in bug 6859 and will revisit this at that time.

Squeezecenter 7.1 behaves now same as SN - the remote numerical buttons are interpreted numerically rather than alphabetically, which makes the Shoutcast directory of 373 entries hard to access.
Seems like a bug to me because it used to work OK once

Punting.

Shoutcast has been rewritten and support for the new directory is available as of 7.3 change 23330.

Please test the new listing and features and let me know of any issues.
