Description James Richardson 2008-06-18 08:17:10 UTC
CAT PR-0060
------------
I just updated my SqueezeCenter install to the new version thats meant to prevent the firmware update loop. After installing I get an error when i try and start squeezecenter.

failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found

I had to copy and paste the MSVCR71.dll to my system32 folder to get it to work. I did not have this issue with the previous SqueezeCenter software.

I am running the squeezecenter software on an unsupported OS which is Windows Home Server which is based on Windows Server 2003.

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/.boomcat

This is where we can download the versions used by the CAT testers

I believe this runtime is available from MS, but I don't know if it will fix the problem.
Comment 5 Chris Owens 2008-07-14 09:36:51 UTC
Michael asks if this is still reproducible? If we need a workaround we might look on the Microsoft Knowledge Base for a link to an official download of this file.
Comment 6 Blackketter Dean 2008-07-23 13:24:03 UTC
Is this a new problem? I suspect it's been around for a while.
Comment 7 James Richardson 2008-07-23 15:24:43 UTC
I have not been able to reproduce this error, nor have I seen any more issues of it in the forums.

Dan, have you any reports of this from customers?
Comment 8 Dan Evans 2008-07-23 16:54:38 UTC
This is the first I've heard of it.
Comment 9 James Richardson 2008-07-24 08:05:28 UTC
OK, I was unable to reproduce this using Server 2003 (any flavor) with the BoomCat version of 7.2 or the latest 7.2

I'm going to close this bug
