Description Max Currie 2008-06-11 13:51:42 UTC
Controller is on version 7.0.1 r2448

Squeezecenter is at version 7.0.1 19705

On a full scan, all album artwork shows up properly. On rescans for new music, the album art generally does not show up in Squeezecenter or on my Duet controller, until I manually view it by clicking on the album in album view. Thereafter, all is well.

Album art is embedded as jpg images in the mp3 2.3 ID3 tags, and also is stored as Folder.jpg (200x200) and AlbumArtSmall.jpg (75x75) in the album's folder.

The behaviour is inconsistent, most of the time artwork does not appear properly, however on occasion it does work.

I have sent files to Slim support and they have been unable to recreate the problem

make sure that you don't have antivirus software interfering with the scan. disable it temporarily, or set it to ignore *.MYI and MYD files.
Comment 2 Max Currie 2008-06-16 02:39:05 UTC
I was advised to exclude MYI and MYD files from my virus scan. I am running AVG Free 8 and can't see where I can do this. However, I tried excluding the path where I think the SqueezeCenter MYD and MYI files are, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\SqueezeCenter\Cache\MySQL

I had mixed results, one file did not come through with artwork, several did, so not conclusive. I will do a full scan and try again, however I am away for 2 weeks so will not get a chance to play with this for a while.

QA to investigate using AVG Free 8

Hi Max, Did you post anything on the forums to see if anyone else there was seeing this? Maybe you could talk some of them into posting some comments or adding some votes to the bug that might be useful in our attempts to reproduce.

Hi

Back from holiday and I tried to load some more albums last night. Mixed results, artwork came in for 5 of them, but not for 2. Album art is embedded as jpg images in the mp3 2.3 ID3 tags, and also is stored as Folder.jpg (200x200) and AlbumArtSmall.jpg (75x75) in the album's folder.

The 2 that did not come through had 953x953 artwork added by mp3tag, ones that worked had smaller artwork, downloaded and added via iTunes.

Regards

Max.

Windows XP
No anti-virus
SqueezeCenter 7.2-23076
Audio - Tagged flac files
Each album folder also has cover.jpg and folder.jpg artwork, 360x360 pixels

I'm experiencing a similar problem. When I scan for new and changed music, the thumbnail artwork for my compilation albums disappears from my web interface and Controller. The artwork is restored when I click on an album and view the full sized artwork in my web interface. Selecting or playing the albums via my Controller doesn't restore the thumbnail.

A full rescan restores the missing thumbnails.

A friend also has the same problem with his 7.2 SqueezeCenter.

Andy: would this one be yours to handle? if not please reassign appropriately.
Comment 8 Andy Grundman 2009-06-09 15:51:53 UTC
New rescan code will fix artwork issues.
