Description Mike Cappella 2008-06-08 15:56:35 UTC
[ moved from enhancement request 8240 ]

It would be nice if the font size could be temporarily increased to the maximum size when the alarm goes off, allowing the time to show up most prominently from a distance.

I don't think anyone needs to see the date for the first 60 seconds or so when the alarm triggers (unless they wake up in a drunken fog). Reverting back to the font preference could occur after 60 or so seconds, or when any button/remote key is pressed.

Siorry if this is seen as a hijack... I agree with Mike, but I'd like to see my chosen screensaver kick in, whih is Now Playing.. as, if I've chosen Random Mix as my chosen playlist I'd like to know what's playing..... and I'd also like to know the time......

This seems like the right thing to do to me too. What do you say, Max?

I can't decide where to go on this. I like it as it is as I'm close enough to my Boom to read the smaller font size and therefore also get the date as well, which is nice. This therefore sounds like people might want it to be a separate pref, which leads to yet more settings. Someone should make a call.

(Ignoring comment 1 in order to keep this on topic)

I'm not planning to do this for 7.2 without further input.
Comment 5 Mike Cappella 2008-08-02 11:18:14 UTC
I can wait; this certainly isn't high priority.

My current thinking on this is that we probably need an extra preference to allow the user to select the alarm screensaver font. This font should only apply to the alarm screensaver - if the player ui is used during an alarm that should be in the standard "when on" font.
Comment 7 Mike Cappella 2008-10-01 00:48:44 UTC
Seems like a good idea to me.
Comment 8 Blackketter Dean 2008-10-01 10:28:52 UTC
Really, do we need _another_ preference?
