It might to nice to have a way to sync these.  IOW, edit the home menu configuration once and have it apply to all players and controllers.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.  I'd like a player UI for modifying the home menu in the player UI.

Many users don't ever hit the web ui, this is also part of bug 8299.
