Bugzilla – Bug 8299
Player settings in player UI organization update
Last modified: 2009-01-23 20:39:52 UTC
The classic player UI for Settings should be updated to be more consistent and like the SBC organization. http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/UserInterfaceHierarchy with a proposal, though there are still differences between it and SBC organization: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/ControllerSettings I've updated these, but it would be good if Ben and Brian could review. One big change is the new Audio submenu where Volume, Bass, Treble, Adjustment, Crossfade, etc. would live. This should be done for 7.2.
1) Date Format - is that Long date, Short Date and Time format options(which order), or just one of them? And what about the DateTime plugin version of those same settings? 2) Snow plugin, as with any plugin is only able to add as a submenu of a top level item. Thus, not readily able to add to Settings->Display->Screensavers 3) Alarm Clock and Information add themselves during init, so not readily sortable other than by an alphabetical sort (partly why we've had it that way). Home menu could probably do with a nice rewrite more in line with squeezeplay, wherein nodes are registered so each node name is tied to its params. Then the menu could be a small weighted tree. Without something on that scale, it won't be easy to move everthing around the way you want it.
Changing to a controller bug. Dean should Ben be adding the audio menu to the controller menu for 7.2?
questions from item 1) of my earlier comment remain unanswered (relate to the player UI)
Audio submenu added to SBC settings menu, 7.2 change 22318. A couple things to add to that submenu yet, so still not ready to close.
This is done.
Verified, Audio menu looks good in 7.2 - 22900
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already. If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
