Description Ben Sandee 2008-05-22 16:31:06 UTC
Several users are complaining about their power settings being incorrect. Often these users have never even been to the Factory Test->Power Management menu and the settings are not what the 'defaults' are supposed to be. This happened to me and I was tracking the 7.0.1 codeline for a long time.

I suggest forcing these settings back to the suggested defaults in an upcoming firmware update to get everyone back to a known baseline.

In addition, you may want to try to figure out why these settings are being corrupted or otherwise disabled in the first place.

QA to verify, 7.1 target
Comment 2 Chris Owens 2008-06-19 10:50:27 UTC
This is a reminder that this bug is to QA for 7.1. Please review these bugs!

bump QA. this needs fixing for the 7.1 release if it is a problem, as it will lead to a reduction in the battery life on the Controller.

Tested with r2722, when changing Settings > Advanced > Factory Test > Power management > any settings.

Then, either reloading or upgrading / downgrading firmware, the settings do not revert to a factory default. They stay as they were last set.

James, are you saying that you could not recreate this? Therefore can this bug be closed?
Comment 6 James Richardson 2008-10-30 09:23:42 UTC
No, I'm saying that I CAN recreate the error.

If I do a factory reset, then the power savings settings do not reset back to a factory state.

When changed, they stay changed. They should change back to a factory state, but do not.
Comment 7 Ben Klaas 2008-11-11 09:10:28 UTC
I just set all of my power management settings to non-default settings then did a factory reset. They went back to defaults. James, any additional info you can provide on this behavior?

I'm using 7.3 r3308

Comment 8 Richard Titmuss 2008-11-11 11:16:07 UTC
I don't think we should automatically reset these settings for 7.3, but should do it in conjunction with bug 9710.

If the settings don't reset after a factory reset, then that's a 7.3 bug. James are you sure about this?

Comment 9 James Richardson 2008-11-11 11:39:26 UTC
I will re-verify the the nightly build for 7.3
Comment 10 James Richardson 2008-11-11 16:13:27 UTC
Verified 7.3r3309 does not exhibit this issue. The Power Management settings are properly reset during a Controller > Factory Reset

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.
