Description Peter Grashoff 2008-04-28 11:13:47 UTC
This is probably related to https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7415 , but this is about the squeezebox 1. I cannot connect to a apple time capsule when I use WEP encryption. Without any encryption the connection works fine.

Solution is most likely the same as the AirPort Extreme N as described in bug 4903.

also, lets please leave targets and priorities at default when filing new reports. Resetting, pending a review. Steven may wish to adjust as part of being assigned. Doubt also that this qualifies as a blocker as a workaround has been suggested. Firmware updates are not planned for SB1.

Confirmed that the solution for Time Capsule is the same as AirPort Extreme N.

From bug 4903:

The original squeezebox uses 802.11b and only supports 64 bit and 128 bit
Shared-key WEP.

To allow an original squeezebox to connect to an AirPort Extreme 802.11n with
WEP security you must enable some hidden options.

To do this run AirPort Utility and log into your AirPort Extreme 802.11n and
choose Manual Setup. Navigate to AirPort settings and then the Wireless tab.
Now while holding down the option or alt key on the keyboard click the Radio
Mode selector and select 802.11b only or 802.11b/g compatible. If you do not
hold down the option or alt key you will not see these options. Under Wireless
Security you will now be able to select WEP 40 bit, also known as WEP 64 bit,
or WEP 128 bit.
