Description Marc Auslander 2008-04-24 19:04:58 UTC
I have a playlist of the internet radio stations I like. I want to set each name to exactly what I want. But in 7.1, when I play a station that has a name in its stream, the playlist entry gets updated. This is not what I want or expect, or what used to happen.

After wandering in the data base, I think I understand this.

A playlist is just a list of tracks associated with the playlist track. So the names come from the track names.

IMHO, the playlist entries should record the name, if any, from the playlist, which may be different from the name associated with the track.

When playing via the playlist, that name ought to take precedence if it exists.

Can you attach an example of a playlist where this happens?

Andy.

Put his playlist in your playlist directory.

From the web interface, select playlists, select KUHF, and play the KUHF entry.

Then go back to playlists and open the KUHF playlist again. The name will have changed!

The change is not written back to the playlist file, so each time there is a rescan the name goes back to the name in the file.

Fixed in 7.1 change 21543. The player display will still show the stream's returned title ("KUHF News" in this case) but the database entry won't be changed.
