Description Mickey Gee 2008-02-21 16:38:39 UTC
On www.squeezenetwork.com, if you click on the the orange right arrow next to the text "Favorites — Add your favorite radio streams, news feeds, and podcasts for access from your players.", you're sent to Favorites management screen.

On www.beta.squeezenetwork.com with r2674/r17664, clicking on this arrow sends you to the Add Players screen which has "About My Devices" and says "Use this screen to add a new Squeezebox, Transporter or Controller to your account or adjust the settings on your device.

do you have a player registered on beta? This happens if it can't find a player for you.

Whether this is the correct behaviour can be discussed...

I think Marketing wanted this change, Matthew would know. Favorites have no use without a player anyway.
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2008-02-22 07:52:55 UTC
Since we've added the add a player to the player panel, I don't think we need this constant redirection, it's confusing and frustrating to not go to what you click on.

It would be better to let people browse around the site, set up accounts and favorites, etc, while they wait for their player to arrive.

No, I didn't add it to the player panel, I made the other pages with a blank player panel redirect to this same page, because that appeared to be what marketing wanted. Why do we even let marketing change the website if we are just going to revert whatever they do?
Comment 6 Blackketter Dean 2008-02-22 08:13:58 UTC
Well, that redirection thing wasn't thought through completely and we need to fix it to ship. Let's put the "add a player" panel in the top right when there's no player registered. I'll write this up as a separate bug.

But THIS bug does happen when you have players connected. The link appears to be wrong:

http://www.beta.squeezenetwork.com/user/viewFavorites

but it should be:

http://www.beta.squeezenetwork.com/settings/favorites

Right?
Comment 7 Andy Grundman 2008-02-22 08:16:45 UTC
Yes, that's wrong.
