Description Jens Lund 2008-02-12 11:15:20 UTC
Hi

I have a FLAC music base with more than 1000 albums (13664 songs).
When the slimserver are done with the loading af TAG information intoo the mySQL database, the years of the albums are mixed between albums.

This means that the stored years, in the mySQL database, from FLAC files TAG information are displayed incorrectly.

I do not think the problem is fixed in the new server 7.0.

Hope you kan fixed the problem.

/Jens

Please don't pre-set target milestone field. Work on 6.5.5 stopped 3 months ago. Please try this with 7.0 nightly builds.

Yes, Jens, please test with the latest SC7 version.

Also, can you elaborate on the exact problem? The description isn't clear to me.

Thanks!

Hi

I will try the new SC 7.0 too verify if the same problem is also present in this version.

Just to describe the problem: The production year of a CD album is stored in the TAG information. When the slimserver load all the music files, the year is browserable in on the WEB / Transporter / SB3 GUI interface.
But because the year is stored incorrectly in the database, or viewed incorrectly in the user interface, the information about the production year of a CD album is displayed with a year from another music file/CD Album....
Years are mixed between music files....

Because of the large amount of the stored FLAC files the problem is discovered on my setup.

I believe this is a duplicate of bug 4367 which in turn is a duplicate of bug 5211. Please reopen and add additional comments if it turns out this is not the case

Should have been bug 4637, sorry!

I have installed the new version of SqueezeCenter (testing and unstable) and tested the music year tag error.
The error is not fixed yet in the new SqueezeCenter.
Therefore the error description is still an issue.

Jens, do you feel what you are experiencing is different from bug 5211? When you say "production year" specifically what tag in the flac file are you referring to? For example year, date or otherwise. Do you have more then one year or date tag in your flac files?

Hi Steven

Bug no. 5211 is perhaps equal this bug.
The year information is the normal tag stored in FLAC files (like album, song title and genre).
I hope the error can be fixed, because year information is often used when listening.
