Description Mickey Gee 2008-01-14 11:41:06 UTC
Some strings are still being displayed as English on the Jive Home menu even after I select a non-English language on the user interface. What typically happens is that the strings will be a mixture of English and non-English on the same screen.

Verified as still a bug on January 14 2008 nightly of Jive firmware and SqueezeCenter 7.0.

It's easy to reproduce:

1. Factory reset Jive controller.
2. After Jive reboots, pick a language -- like German.
3. When at Welcome screen (or Willkommen!) press left button once and then hold it down second time to get into the Jive Home "Jive-Hauptmenu" screen.
4. You'll see top 2 items in German and the bottom 2 items "Extras" and "Choose Player" in English.
5. If you pick "Choose Player", the title of the next screen is also in English.

I couldn't find other screens with this issue, but if I do I'll submit additional bugs.

Should be fixed when new translations come in. Ben to verify.

dropping to P5 to get it off my immediate radar. The only reason this is happening is that we don't have the DE translation for Choose Player and 'Extras' in DE is 'Extras'.

Will update and close this when the new translations come back.

There is a CHOOSE_PLAYER in SC strings.txt:

CHOOSE_PLAYER
	DE	Player Auswahl
	EN	Choose player
	ES	Elegir reproductor
	FR	Sélectionner une platine
	IT	Scegli lettore
	NL	Speler kiezen

There are other screens with english, but those I think come from SC and need SC to be the same language.

I'm currently seeing Random Mix in english, however. That's a tricky one as the plugin registers the text during initPlugin. Sounds & Effects and Podcasts also do this and so will anything that we plan post 7.0 to use the registerPluginMenu() call in initPlugin. Reworking this (maybe register a different kind of live callback?) would probably have to be post-7

I no longer see it as of version 7.0 r1628. Looks good, so I consider this one closed. Maybe the translations took care of it.

There may be other stuff to fix in future releases, but maybe that should be a new bug.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
