Bugzilla – Bug 6304
Random mix play should respond to GO or PLAY button
Last modified: 2008-05-15 13:00:44 UTC
And use the new, upcoming, play icon from Noah instead of the ">" symbol. See bug 6220.
Just a UI reminder: Every browseable button in the Jive UI (as well as the SB UI for that matter) should respond to the PLAY and Go buttons. Some items are both navigable and playable and have different behavior, like an artist name, which should play all songs by that artist on PLAY and view all albums by that artist on GO. Other items should behave the same and either play (like a random mix) or go (like in settings), when either PLAY or GO is pressed.
Yeah, this is no good. Fix for 7.0, priority P4
If the reference to Noah's icon means that there will be a new "play" icon for Jive lines to denote that "Go" on that line will be equivalent to "Play", this sounds like a good improvement, and in line with the guidelines I suggested in November in http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40126 -- that it should always be obvious when Go will act like Play. Please also consider as part of this bug making Jive and the IR remote behave the same for Random Mix. Currently in in SC7 with the IR remote control and a Squeezebox, the *only* way to start a Random Mix session is the Play button -- the right arrow doesn't start Random Mix (it "bumps" right). Currently with the Jive controller, the *only* way to start a Random Mix session is the center/Go button -- the Play button doesn't start Random Mix (it displays "Now Playing: Nothing") if there's no current playlist). Thanks.
fixed in change 16205 and associated jive changes earlier today GO/PLAY have same effect in Random Mix items, and you will be pushed to the NowPlaying window after executing any of these. we still need the play icon for these menu items, but that's bug 6220
This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug. To download this version, please navigate to: http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html
