Bugzilla – Bug 6044
SqueezeTray icon says 'Running' but web UI won't load in browser
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:22:51 UTC
If SqueezeCenter is stopped, and you start it using the tray icon, the tray icon will report the server is running before it's actually accessible. Therefore if you click "Open SqueezeCenter" before it's truly loaded (even though the tray icon says "Running") you get a "Unable to connect" error in the browser. Retrying a few moments later works and it will load. The SqueezeTray icon should not offer the "Open SqueezeCenter" option until the server is actually up and running.
looks like reappearance of Bug 4958
Can you please test again with the latest nightly? SqueezeTray has partly been rewritten.
In the last two days this behavior has been totally changed. Please retest with a newer nightly.
oops sorry Dan. I meant the other Dan. :)
Dan: is this still an issue?
Yes, I just tried it and get the same behavior. SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 14627 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
Change 14655 - let's try harder to know the real state of SC7. Please give it another try (SVN or 11-14 build)
It may be fixed. I tried this morning with SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 14684 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252 In Squeezetray I could not access the "Open SqueezeCenter" option until it was actually running. Everything worked smoothly. One question: when I stop SqueezeCenter, should mysqld.exe continue running? currently it does.
It should not, but please file another bug, or I'm pretty sure there's an existing one about that issue :)

As for MySQL - that's bug 5620
