Description Mark Miksis 2007-11-05 11:21:01 UTC
90% of the items in the SC Home panel are the same as the player menu, but they are presented in a different order or different hierarchy. A few examples:

- On SC "Playlists" appears under "My Music", on the player they are both at the top level
- Under "My Music, on SC, "Artists" is first and "Albums" is second, on the player they are reversed

There are many other examples. I think usability would be improved if they were the same. There will always be a few items that only appear in one or the other, but the common items could still be made consistent.

Note that although I filed this bug against the Web Interface, I don't think I have an opinion as to which arrangement is better...

There is a menu hierarchy on the Jive section of the wiki, and all others are intended to default to the same thing. Currently, top level player menu is much more configurable than the others, etc etc.

I recall at least a couple other reports touching on this, but finding things is no longer trivial. Anyone doing bulk review should keep an eye open (bug 5864 is one example)

The organization should now follow http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?UserInterfaceHierarchy on all UIs. If it's not, please open new bugs with specific issues under each individual product. Thanks!
