Bugzilla – Bug 604
Do not show DRM protected WMA files in browse
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:29:00 UTC
Now that Slimserver has been fixed so that it can recognise DRM protected WMA files, please can there be a server option to skip DRM protected files on scan/rescan.
Dean, simply with a setting in behavior, then returning undef from readTags if DRM flag is found. This doesn't need to apply to Moodlogic and iTunes becuase importing those is designed to take in libraries as managed by those other apps. thoughts?
Created attachment 165 [details] dump out of readTags on DRM this adds a server behavior pref, strings and default setting. readtags returns undef if DRM flag found.

Dean, should we skip having this as a pref, back out the 552 patch and just have the attachement here (w/o pref)? No sense in flagging the file if we're just going to ignore.
the server is scanning and marking drm files. no point in simply skipping them from scan now.
They show up in Browse Albums, Artists, and Genres, and that's bad. Dean tells me it's okay if they show up in Browse Music Folder. This is for the sEkRiT project Dean is working on. Dean tells me DRM files get flagged, but then get shown in the web ui and player ui anyway.
Dean asked me to mark it as assigned to you, Dan.
We'll continue to scan them, but we're no going to show them in browse.
Dan has been handling this one as bug 3190 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 3190 ***
Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
