Description David Myers 2007-10-28 07:09:47 UTC
I can't reproduce this issue so I understand if this bug doesn't count towards my "Find 'em" total, but I'm reporting it anyway in the hope it might prove useful.

This may turn out to be a browser cache issue, but I'm not sure.

I added two new MP3s from the same album to my collection and ran a "Look for new and changed music" rescan. After the scan completed the album artwork was wrong in the Albums large artwork view; the artwork shown was for a different album. If I clicked on the album, the album info view showed the correct artwork.

Then I did a "Clear library and rescan everything" rescan and the artwork was different, but still incorrect.

At some point while clicking around and viewing the artwork in the various places it appears in the Web UI it became correct.

I cleared my browser cache at some point during troubleshooting, but unfortunately I can't remember when. But this didn't immediately correct the problem.

I then added another single MP3 from a different album and did a "Look for new" rescan, and the album artwork was correct.

This issue happened at the same time as the issue in bug 5947.

That is, after the "Look for new" rescan, the new album didn't appear in New Music, and in Albums it had the wrong artwork.

OK, it happened again.

This issue (and bug 5947 where new albums don't appear in New Music) appears to be triggered when adding a new album with the same name as an existing album.

In the case above, the album I added was called "Greatest Hits", and the incorrect album artwork that appeared was for a different album called "Greatest Hits".

Today I added songs from several different albums at once (with "Look for new"), one of which was called "Anthology". But the artwork that appeared for that album was for a different album called "Anthology". The artwork was wrong in Artist view with either small or large artwork, but clicking on the wrong artwork to see album details showed the correct artwork.

I then did a "Clear library" rescan and cleared my browser cache, after which the artwork was correct (and the album appeared correctly in New Music).

So there's an issue with "Look for new" rescans when there are new songs from an album with the same name as one already in the database.

I should have added that this is with SqueezeCenter nightly 10/30 on Fedora 7.

QA to reproduce. David, if possible could you attach a scan log and maybe any hints on how to reproduce?
Comment 6 David Myers 2007-11-21 15:26:59 UTC
I've been unable to reproduce it when I start with a fresh install and an empty library. I'll keep messing around.

Will look at this again post-7.0 unless there's are reproducible case.

David:

Can you please try the release version of 7.0 (SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 17737) from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html.

Using that version, I was unable to reproduce this bug. I imported & updated my libary with several albums all titled "Greatest Hits" by different artists. Each one showed the proper album art for the specific artist.
