Description Julius Dauz 2007-09-24 16:58:37 UTC
Should we remove UPnP support since we are not using it for Rhapsody anymore. This is misleading to customers if they see a UPnP device in SlimServer.
Comment 1 Chris Owens 2007-09-24 22:02:08 UTC
What do you think, Andy? Is there a reason to leave it in there?
Comment 2 Andy Grundman 2007-09-25 06:55:46 UTC
No we should not remove it, it is useful for other UPnP servers. The question to ask is should we remove Rhapsody UPnP support, and I would be inclined to say yes but I'm not sure everyone would agree.
Comment 3 Dan Evans 2007-09-25 09:21:25 UTC
If we don't want to leave in Rhapsody uPnP support, what other purpose is there to leave it in?

At the moment, customers who have some unrelated UPnP media server running see it appearing in SlimServer. This is very misleading and they end up thinking we support UPnP servers, etc.

Can we remove the function that causes UPnP servers to appear in SlimServer?
Comment 4 Andy Grundman 2007-09-25 09:23:38 UTC
But that's the whole point, so you can access your media files on a UPnP server. We *do* support UPnP servers.
