Description Andy Grundman 2007-09-10 14:54:17 UTC
The discovery code is still called even if you turn off auto-discovery and enter a manual SlimServer address. So you can't connect to a SlimServer on another subnet.
Comment 1 Adrian Smith 2007-09-12 15:06:25 UTC
Yes but the discovery packets are directed to added address - so you get the httpport etc back from the server.

Works all the time for me on another subnet....

I was trying to connect to a SlimServer on the internet the other day, and couldn't get it to work. I will give it another try soon.

Is this really a major bug?
Comment 4 Chris Owens 2007-10-30 10:00:01 UTC
QA should test, Richard says this should work.
Comment 5 Blackketter Dean 2007-12-20 11:02:52 UTC
Andy, can you retest?

I have a few Jive issues that are probably due to the fact that my home LAN has three subnets: SC on one, 2 SB2's on another and wireless (Jive) on the third.

1) Jive setup was a challenge - see details in bug 6303, comment 2
2) After setup is complete, I cannot enter Music Source so there's no way to specify a different SC or select SN
3) Choose Player->Setup SqueezeBox is always blank - I'm not sure what options would be there so I don't know what functionality I might be missing. The message about the "button on the front" was confusing until I saw the pictures in today's announcement.

This is my standard LAN setup, so let me know if there are specific things I can help test in this multiple subnet environment.

Fletch: is this resolved for you with the latest firmware?

WFM, marking as fixed.
