Description sbjaerum 2007-09-05 06:51:11 UTC
I find the volume of the sound effects inconsistent. More specifically, the sound effect I find most useful is the one that is played when the remote is docked to give feedback that it is connected and charging properly. This sound is very low while lots of the others are too loud.

Agreed. Most sounds are too loud, with the exception of the dociking sound. Especially the click sound.
Comment 2 sbjaerum 2007-09-05 21:25:59 UTC
The docking sound seem to have disappeared altogether in the latest nightly (09.05). No sound can be heard, and not present in the Sound Effects applet.

Docking sound is back in r461. Also seems loader than before.

I'd noticed the difference in level with the docking sound but the actual file itself is about the same volume.
This seems to have resolved in the latest update - without an update to the wavs.

In terms of getting the mix right, and assuming the docking sound seems to be playing at full volume now, are there any other sounds that stand out too far? (other than the click)

I'll also be adding a sound effects volume control as part of bug 5314.
