Description Max Spicer 2007-09-03 06:02:55 UTC
It should be possible to choose what items appear at the top-level player screen as you can on Squeezeboxes. For example, I should be able to choose to have Albums appear at the top-level, rather than having to go through My Music.
Comment 1 Chris Owens 2007-09-04 12:53:25 UTC
I agree, and I think it is planned, but I don't necessarily see this required for launch.
Comment 2 Blackketter Dean 2007-11-01 09:25:03 UTC
Yes, it is. Ben has this on his plate.
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2007-12-20 09:31:39 UTC
Ben: What's the status of the Home Menu?
Comment 4 Ben Klaas 2007-12-26 07:48:56 UTC
anything with Severity "enhancement" is getting a milestone tag as "Future"
Comment 5 Blackketter Dean 2007-12-26 08:17:33 UTC
I want to talk about the importance of this feature.
Comment 6 Blackketter Dean 2007-12-27 08:35:39 UTC
Ben proposes a two-phase approach where for "first gen", we just have a list of the default home menu items with checkboxes for viewing them/not viewing them. Settings would not be allowed to be "unviewed", the rest can.

The second phase would allow the addition of items to the home menu that are otherwise in lower levels of the hierarchy like (but not limited to) all the items under Music Library, Internet Radio, Music Services, Favorites, etc...
Comment 7 Richard Titmuss 2008-01-11 06:27:09 UTC
I don't think this is needed for 7.0, it would be better for 7.0.1.
Comment 8 Blackketter Dean 2008-01-11 08:09:40 UTC
This is an essential requirement for 7.0.1

per discussion today, bug fixes are targetted for 7.0.1, new features for 7.1. This is the latter.
Comment 11 Ben Klaas 2008-05-05 19:21:45 UTC
This is pretty much fixed in 7.1 trunk, r2419 and r2420.

I have some SC-side enhancements that I want to do yet, so I'm going to leave the bug open, but the applet is now functional.

User is presented with a list of items they can either add/remove from the top-level menu.

- If the item's default location is the top level menu, unselecting the item from the Customize Home Menu applet will result in it being hidden from view

- If the item's default location is a sub menu, unselecting the item will remove it from the top level menu but leave it in it's default location

- Item's whose default location is a sub menu are never removed from their default location

7.1 trunk SC change 19469 sends individual OPML-based items (Rhapsody, Pandora, Staff Picks, etc.) for use by the selection list in CustomizeHomeApplet. By default these items are hidden. If the checkbox is selected from the list, the item is added to the top-level menu.

I'm still working on the sort routine on the list, but for all intents and purposes, this bug is now fully fixed.
