Description mike bryn 2007-01-04 21:00:34 UTC
Further to bug 4168, Live365 plugin appears to work at first, however, there are a few issues:

1. Display of playlist in right pane of browser is unformatted;

2. Unknown stations listed in the "My Presets" menu;

3. Most stations appear to start fine, but certain stations fail to play when accessed via SB4 interface or web browser. One such station is Emjoy. In some cases, these stations buffer, then freeze at "waiting to sync". In other cases, it freezes at "connecting".
Comment 1 mike bryn 2007-01-04 21:02:30 UTC
Should read SB3 in:

Slimserver 6.3.1 works perfectly with Live 365. I note that the SB3 reverts to older firmware when reverting to 6.3.1.

1. Display of playlist in right pane of browser is unformatted

I was able to reproduce this. When clicking play on a Live 365 station in the browser the right pane becomes unformatted and does not update. A manual refresh of the browser will format the pane.

2. Unknown stations listed in the "My Presets" menu;

I was not able to reproduce this.

3. Most stations appear to start fine, but certain stations fail to play when
accessed via SB3 interface or web browser. One such station is Emjoy. In some
cases, these stations buffer, then freeze at "waiting to sync". In other cases,
it freezes at "connecting".

I was not able to reproduce this.

Mike, I changed the summary of this bug to reflect the first problem you described. Can you provide more information on the two other issues? Perhaps they should have their own bug entries.

Andy, do you see this behavior?
Comment 4 KDF 2007-01-09 15:23:16 UTC
Is the formatting problem similar to what is described/pictured in bug 4110?
Comment 5 KDF 2007-01-10 00:32:00 UTC
see also bug 4534
Comment 6 Chris Owens 2007-01-10 09:53:17 UTC
It does look similar. Do we have any leads on these issues? Is it a browser issue?
Comment 7 Andy Grundman 2007-01-10 11:20:46 UTC
Marking as a dup of 4534, which I've just fixed. Stations that don't play should be marked as a different bug, although it may be the same as bug 4563.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 4534 ***

Referring to build:

SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 11178 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt

1. Right pane formatting appears resolved.

2. I do not presently see any unknown presets.

3. This problem persists. You may be unable to duplicate on a single SB3. In this scenario, problem stations seemed to start normally. In a 2-SB3 setup, with the two synced for audio and power, the problem persists. Via Live365, Emjoy froze at "Waiting to Sync" and "Loungemaster London" produced a playlist error.
Comment 9 Chris Owens 2007-01-11 17:19:12 UTC
Mike, are you seeing the same symptoms for your issue #3 as in bug 4563? That is, does playback stop (or never start) and then your SB3 is unable to make any sound until after being power-cycled?
Comment 10 mike bryn 2007-01-11 17:53:51 UTC
Power cycling does not appear to be an issue. In 6.3.1 all Live365 stations work without issue on individual SB3s and in multiple SB3 setup, synced to audio and power. 6.5.1 seems to work fine for Live365 on all stations that I use as long as I do not have multiple SB3s synced. Upon syncing, certain stations seem to fail.

Perhaps there is some difference in the way these specific stations are accessed(?). Perhaps new firmware is an issue(?).
Comment 11 Chris Owens 2007-01-12 08:59:47 UTC
Changed the title of the bug to correctly reflect the remaining problem.

Mike, just to verify, your SB3 is running FW 72? Is there anything unusual about your network that might be preventing port 21800 from getting to your SB3?

I'm also not having any problems receiving Emjoy.

Comment 12 mike bryn 2007-01-12 09:41:40 UTC
Each time I install 6.5.x, the player automatically upgrades the FW, so I imagine it is 72 if that is the latest. Each time I revert to 6.3.1, the player reverts the FW as well.

I also have full access to all stations, including Emjoy in a single-SB setup using 6.5.1, and in all setups using 6.3.1. It is the combination of (6.5.1) + (new FW) + (synced multiple SB's) that causes the issue.
Comment 13 Chris Owens 2007-01-12 10:13:14 UTC
I can reproduce this on synced players, thanks for bearing with me.
Comment 14 Andy Grundman 2007-01-12 10:17:12 UTC
Can we narrow down the 'some radio stations' part? Does it only happen with live365, or other mp3 or wma stations?
Comment 15 mike bryn 2007-01-12 10:19:32 UTC
As I only listen to Live365, I cannot say. It happens to a subset of Live365 stations, but not all. Other stations start and sync with no problem. Others (e.g., Loungemaster London) display intermittent problems, but generally start fine (separate issue?).
Comment 16 Chris Owens 2007-01-12 11:33:42 UTC
Andy, it happens for me 100% of the time on 'Emjoy' http://www.live365.com/stations/fkorf
Comment 17 mike bryn 2007-01-15 12:05:25 UTC
Of my presets, the following also fail to play:

Utopia Vibes
Below Zero Archives
Comment 18 mike bryn 2007-03-10 08:46:04 UTC
Shoutcast stations have all so far worked on synced players.
Comment 19 Andy Grundman 2007-08-30 21:17:23 UTC
I've just checked in a large patch to the SlimServer 7 sync code, thanks to Alan Young. Please retest this issue.
Comment 20 mike bryn 2007-10-08 08:00:25 UTC
Problem persists. Some Live365 stations work reliably (e.g., Cafe Cody). Most do not.

Perhaps determining what these stations do differently is a suitable first step. Next step is determining what changed since v6.3.
Comment 21 Andy Grundman 2007-10-08 08:10:25 UTC
You are testing on the latest SqueezeCenter 7 build? Don't bother testing in 6.5.
Comment 22 mike bryn 2007-10-08 08:13:44 UTC
Yes, test was from Squeezecenter build downloaded and installed October 6 2007.
Comment 23 Andy Grundman 2007-10-08 08:31:41 UTC
OK I just fixed a bug in synced Live365 playback, give it another try. The station live365://www.live365.com/play/fkorf works for me now.
Comment 24 mike bryn 2007-11-18 13:09:37 UTC
This appears to be resolved for me.
Comment 25 Andy Grundman 2007-11-19 06:45:07 UTC
Marking fixed, please reopen if you still see this problem.
Comment 26 Chris Owens 2008-03-07 09:04:01 UTC
This bug is being closed since it was resolved for a version which is now released! Please download the new version of SqueezeCenter (formerly SlimServer) at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html

If you are still seeing this bug, please re-open it and we will consider it for a future release.
