Bugzilla – Bug 3519
SB2 turns off every 30 minutes or so
Last modified: 2008-09-15 14:38:25 UTC
Other notes: - it happens whether listening to radio or my library - it happens when synched (3 SBs in total) or not - it happens whether alarm is on or not - I unloaded most plugins and it still happens - wifi network (802.11g) otherwise seems stable - powering on and hitting Now Playing button fixes it for 30 minutes Thanks.
squeezebox or slimserver? all squeezeboxes or just one? if just one, perhaps contact support@slimdevices.com
Are you seeing this same problem with 6.3 builds, using FW 54?
Subject: Re: SB2 turns off every 30 minutes or so If synched at the time, all the synched SBs will shut down at once. But each of them seems to have suffered the issue, even when un-synched from the others. Subject: Re: SB2 turns off every 30 minutes or so Just upgraded to 6.3 and FW 54 and ran one SB without synching to the others and it shut down about 30 minutes after hitting play (playing one album at a time, not random songs etc.) - MO On 10-Jun-06, at 2:06 PM, Slim Devices Bugzilla wrote: > https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3519 > > > > > > ------- Comment #2 from slim-mail@deane-freeman.com 2006-06-10 > 11:06 ------- > Are you seeing this same problem with 6.3 builds, using FW 54? > > > > > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. > You reported the bug, or are watching the reporter.
mark: can you describe exactly what's happening when it shuts down? is the computer going to sleep or is the player just stopping?
Or is it playing some specific track and crashing? Have you looked in the log files to see if there is any hint about what could be going wrong?
Subject: Re: SB2 turns off every 30 minutes or so Sure -- but I keep looking at slimserver.log and it's empty but I'll look again and come back to you. It seems to affect the SBs indiscriminately without regard to what track is playing. - MO On 12/06/06, Slim Devices Bugzilla <bugs@bugs.slimdevices.com> wrote: > > https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3519 > > > > > > ------- Comment #7 from chris@slimdevices.com 2006-06-12 13:59 ------- > Or is it playing some specific track and crashing? > > Have you looked in the log files to see if there is any hint about what > could > be going wrong? > > > > > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. > You reported the bug, or are watching the reporter. > Sure -- but I keep looking at slimserver.log and it's empty but I'll look again and come back to you. Yesterday before leaving work I had 1 SB2 and 2 SB3s all synced, playing with slimserver 6.3 as I went through reviewing bugs. On a couple of occasions I listened to them for more than 45 minutes. Here's an idea, run the osx Activity Monitor. Maybe the slim executable (or another program) is just doing something so intensive that it's not finding time to talk to your SBs?
Subject: Re: SB2 turns off every 30 minutes or so Thanks Chris -- I'll give it a try and let you know if there's anything unusual there. - MO On 13/06/06, Slim Devices Bugzilla <bugs@bugs.slimdevices.com> wrote: > > https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3519 > > > > > > ------- Comment #8 from mark.opashinov@gmail.com 2006-06-12 14:18 ------- > Subject: Re: SB2 turns off every 30 minutes or so > > Sure -- but I keep looking at slimserver.log and it's empty but I'll look > again and come back to you. Hi Mark, Were you able to look at the activity monitor? We're anxious to ship 6.3, but if this is a real bug, I'd rather get it reproduced and fixed.
Subject: Re: SB2 turns off every 30 minutes or so Chris: I spoke to Ross Levine about my continuing problems (he assigned it Ticket #5311) and we removd all traces of SS 6.2.2 and installed SS 6.3 and it appears (fingers crossed) to be working fine. The ticket's now closed, I think. Apparently it's a known bug affecting Perl on OS/X. - MO On 21/06/06, Slim Devices Bugzilla <bugs@bugs.slimdevices.com> wrote: > > https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3519 > > > > > > ------- Comment #11 from chris@slimdevices.com 2006-06-21 10:54 ------- > Hi Mark, > > Were you able to look at the activity monitor?
