Description Paul Crawford 2006-04-17 09:48:20 UTC
I am trying to use the Handheld interface for the 2006/04/07 build of 6.2.2 on my Palm Tungsten C. I am using Web Browser v2.0.1.1 on PalmOS 5.2.1
The first time I use the next link from the status page, everything works fine (song skips to the next song in the play list). But the next time I use the link, the page just refreshes, but the playlist does not advance.
Please note, this does not happen with IE6 in Windows XP. Only on the Palm web browser.
Very similar to the situation described in Bug #2618.

Paul, I fear this is an issue with the browser's caching. Do you have any parameters you could set to disable the caching for a test?

I've seen there are other Palm users with more recent releases who do not suffer from that problem (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=103274&postcount=18). Do you have a chance to update your software?

Michael, I have already disabled the cache on my palm. The caching causes all kinds of problems. I will re-verify my setup.
I will contact Palm to see what upgrade options I have. This is an older model, so I am guessing not likely. Will get back to you soon.
Thanks.

Downgrading to Normal since there is a workaround / 3rd party problem.

Have you tried alternate browsers? Such as Opera Mini + IBM JVM?
Comment 4 Paul Crawford 2006-04-21 22:21:25 UTC
Confirmed that it is a problem with the web browser version that I am using. Web Pro 3.0.1c works fine (but it is going to cost me extra). This is to bad, because of all of the browsers I have tried, the Web Browser v2 is the one I like the best. Still would be nice to understand why it does not work in this specific browser.
Thank you for all of your help and keep up the great work.

Caching problem for a particular browser. Not much we can do. If you have a fix, please reopen the bug.
