Description Ben Sandee 2004-05-11 07:04:38 UTC
I'm using two id3v2.4 tags, TPOS (part of set) and then leaving track numbers
consistent. So I have a four disc set up like the following.

TPOS 1/4 TRCK 1 Track One, Disc One
TPOS 1/4 TRCK 2 Track Two, Disc Two
TPOS 2/4 TRCK 1 Track One, Disc Two
...
TPOS 3/4 TRCK 1 Track One, Disc Three
...

The album shows up correctly in the browse by albums, but when I play it the
tracks appear to be completely randomly sorted. This doesn't happen with
single-disc albums which are sorted properly. All of the information in the
track information is consistent with the above values, so slimserver is properly
extracting the info I believe.

You can get 5 sample tracks from three of the four discs here:

http://dartboard.dyndns.org/slimdevices/

I used taged to add the id3v2.4 tags.

A bit of additional info:

This appears to only occur with mult-disc albums that are *various* artists. My
multi-disc sets that are a single artist seem to work fine.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
