Description clumsyoik 2005-11-01 08:30:13 UTC
This has now happened 3 times (in 5 days). Running slimserver 6_2_x_v2005-10-27.

Basically, at the end of a track, the SB2 just goes silent. The display shows:

  Now Playing (1 of 38) [XXXXXXXXXXX] -0.00
  The Essential Michael Jackson

and seems pretty normal; i.e I can change the size and it scrolls. If I press
Pause it changes to:

  Paused (1 of 38) [XXXXXXXXXXX] -0.00
  The Essential Michael Jackson

and if I press Pause again it goes back to the original "Now Playing".

If I press Play, the display goes to full brightness, but the contents don't change.

I then tried changing the Shuffle mode (from shuffled to not shuffled), and then
pressed Play. The track then restarted from 00:00, and the problem went away.

There doesn't appear to be any error message from the server.

I am sure that, at least 2 of the 3 times (and possibly all 3), I had paused the
track partway through, then unpaused the track, and it played fine until the end
of the track.

There is still some network activity (a single TCP stream).

Attached is a short ethereal trace of the TCP stream that was still active while
the SB2 was hung.

I can enable debugging in the server (you'll have to tell me which settings) for
more info if this happens again.

I tried pausing/unpausing some more tracks, and each time the same thing
happened; a hang at the end of the track.

Then I was scanning at 32x through a track to get near to the end, and overshot
into the next track. So then I tried to scan at -8x to get back to near the end
of the first track, and the SB2 has hung again. I mean, really hung.

  Now Scanning -8x (2 of 38) [ ] -04.39
Michael Jackson - They Dont Care About Us

There is no network activity and none of the remote buttons have any effect, not
even the power button. The web interface says "Your player was not found".
Still no error messages on the server. I've had to remove the power.

This is likely a dupe of bug 2169
Check d_source and you will likely find that the server has the player in
playmode: playout-play when you pause. Pausing before playout-play (very early
in song) will still work.
Comment 3 clumsyoik 2005-11-01 11:57:55 UTC
I believe this is indeed a dupe of that bug...
