Description Nick Ryman-Tubb 2005-10-28 00:24:39 UTC
After installed server 6.2 and updating the firmware, I have found that the
S/PDIF enable signal, which I used to turn on/off an external amplifier, is
stuck "on".

This is a reoccurance of a similar bug that happened a few versions ago!

The enable signal needs to turn OFF when the player is turned off or the song is
STOPPED.

At the moment my external amp is left on due to this bug - I would appreciate a
fix and perhaps a big comment in the code explaining not to remove!!

Thanks!

Squeezebox firmware has not changed in a long time. Did you mean squeezebox, or
sueezebox 2?
Comment 2 Nick Ryman-Tubb 2005-10-28 09:41:50 UTC
It is on the original character-display Squeezebox. This is the same as bug
#1351 that I reported ages ago - that was since fixed, ages ago. This feature
has been working fine and has stopped working since I upgraded to SlimServer 6.2
and updated the firmware on the Squeezebox at the same time a few days back.

Squeezebox 2 does not have the same "geek" connector where the S/PDIF enable
signal can be found as the original Squeezebox and so this does not apply.

thanks. That cleared up my confusion :)

Sean: do you know what happened here?

Maybe confusing mp3 and pcm modes? When the last data played back is PCM, the
s/pdif will remain enabled.
Comment 6 Nick Ryman-Tubb 2005-10-31 23:56:56 UTC
As far as I can tell all my music is stored as MP3 - the song that worked before
I installed server 6.2 now does not.

Hi!

I was trying to play a local stream and the SB timed out connecting to it. The
amp (that was previously stuck on due to the S/PDIF being always on) turned off!
When I then when back to play a song, the amp behaves correctly and turns on/off
now. Very odd. I can only think that maybe there is an initialisation error
which was somehow reset? It seems to be working at this moment though - so this
will be a difficult one to track down!
