As discussed in http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=59941&postcount=7
and following posts, the dynamic re-count  of albums / songs / artists on the
home page causes dropouts on slow hardware and/or with big libraries.

These numbers used to be stored in the metadata table in 6.1.

All - I've checked in some changes to allow tweaking of the SQLite performance parameters under Settings 
-> Performance. As well as changes to make the home page go faster.

Please let me know how that affects you.
