Description Patrick Dixon 2005-10-18 14:24:48 UTC
Using the SB2 remote, if you adjust the volume setting whilst the current song
is stopped or pause, the volume appears to be zero (muted) and the previous
volume level is lost.

This is inconsistent with the web UI which maintains volume settings and
annoying if you are trying to adjust or check volume prior to starting a song
(say late at night).
Comment 1 Blackketter Dean 2005-10-18 18:41:01 UTC
This only happens if it's paused (not stopped) as far as I can tell.

what's happening is that the fade out is leaving the player at a volume of zero for the pause, then it
goes back up when fading in.

fixed in change 4679, please try it out in tonight's nightly build.

Thanks, that's great.
Comment 3 Patrick Dixon 2005-10-25 01:37:16 UTC
I am not sure if this is coincidence, but since fixing this bug the fade down/up
on pause does not seem correct. It sometimes seems to 'bounce'. Is it possible
that this is connected; or maybe it's related to the linear to log volume
control firmware change?

This seems to have reappeared in 6.5b1

I'm on SlimServer Version: 6.5b1 - 7483 - Linux - EN - utf8, I'm slightly wary of the latest nightlies until the split scanner branch is a little more stable!

Change 9672 regressed this bug to fix bug 2314. When fixing this one correctly, let's make sure we test both cases.
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2006-10-06 10:18:06 UTC
Just for reference, Triode notes bug 4289 appears related.
Comment 8 Adrian Smith 2006-10-06 14:52:06 UTC
I hope this is fixed with r10253 - please test and close
Comment 9 Patrick Dixon 2006-10-08 09:44:00 UTC
Seems good to me - can I close it?
Comment 10 Patrick Dixon 2006-10-08 09:44:38 UTC
Yes I can!
