Description Jim McAtee 2005-09-22 15:13:00 UTC
Cookie crumb navigation is poorly (or incompletely) implemented. If a user is
on the N'th page of any of the browse modes, then drills down one or more
levels, there's no way to use the navigation links to return to that N'th
page. The user is forced to either use the Back button, or else go to 1st page
of the browse mode and navigate back to page N. Very awkward.

Either:
1) Link 'Browse [mode]' back to the page from which the user decended, or
2) Add an additional level to the cookie crumbs linking to that N'th page. In
Browse Artists, for instance, t might look like:

Home / Browse Artists / E-H / Ella Fitgerald

My thoughts on the two bugs that have been closed as duplicates of this bug:

Bug 4722: this is truely a duplicate enhancement request, and IMO suggests a better solution to the issue raised in this report.

Bug 6693: this reports an actual bug in the breadcrumb navigation whereby the text of the breadcrumb when you go to a track page does not reflect how you got there.

I don't think bug 6693 is a duplicate of this one at all. This is an enhancement request that will probably never be implemented. The other one is a bug.

Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.
