Description Julius Friede 2004-03-12 10:11:40 UTC
When selecting an album via the Genre:All Albums:specific album path the songs are played in
alphabetical order, not song order. This is especially a problem with multiple artist albums which is the
primary reason to use this path.
Comment 1 KDF 2004-03-12 11:00:46 UTC
Genre:All Albums:specific artist:specific album?
from remote or web ui?
is this with latest cvs, because a patch was done recently to fix the "all
albums/songs" special cases. At least, for use with the remote.
Comment 2 Julius Friede 2004-03-12 14:47:30 UTC
I am using the 5.1.1 general release for OSX and the bug is still present. I do not use the CVS
distributions mainly because I do not know how to use them:-(
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2004-03-12 17:31:51 UTC
The latest pre-release version from CVS is available here as a regular installer:

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest

Can you try it out and let us know if it fixes the issue?

thanks,
dean

Unfortunately it is not fixed in the 3/12 dmg release.
Comment 5 Simon Tennant 2004-03-15 08:18:16 UTC
It appears to sort songs in compilation albums using the artist name rather than
the track number.

Here's the playlist output:

9. Search For Marden Hill... from Winter Chill by 45 Dip
3. Wouldn't She from Winter Chill by A Man Called Adam
2. Breather from Winter Chill by Afterlife
4. Cold Water Music from Winter Chill by Aim
10. Only One from Winter Chill by Anthea
1. People Make The World Go 'round from Winter Chill by Carl Craig's Innerzone
Orchestra
6. Channel 1 Suite from Winter Chill by The Cinematic Orchestra
10. Serenity from Winter Chill by DJ Trax
13. Sky Inside A Room from Winter Chill by Dust
11. Heavy Interference from Winter Chill by Eyedentity
12. Curious from Winter Chill by Guardians Of Dalliance
     ...
6. We Be The Crew from Winter Chill by Wiseguys
Comment 6 Simon Tennant 2004-03-19 12:01:09 UTC
This appears to be fixed in the 2004-03-19 build. Pherhaps earlier.
Comment 7 Julius Friede 2004-03-19 13:35:21 UTC
I have tried the 3/19 build (dmg flavor) and Genre:All Albums:specific album still loads in alphabetical
order, not song order. This is the case for both a Squeezebox and a Slimp3. Simon@imaginator.com,
what platform are you using the SlimServer on?
Comment 8 Simon Tennant 2004-03-29 08:11:30 UTC
I have been using the slimserver on Linux. I will test again with the latest build.

I'm marking this as a dupe since its the same section of code involved in Bug
231. I have sent a patched version of the module to Julius for test, and a
patch to Dean for review.
