Bugzilla – Bug 1959
radio stations should be able to be paused, rewound and forwarded.
Last modified: 2011-11-06 23:23:01 UTC
This would use a disk (or even memory) based buffer and make radio streams seekable when possible.
See also #2212. 2212 bug calls for podcasts to be permanently saved and made accessible via the browse ui. The fix for this bug could easily do most of the work for the other one.
Instead of "rolling our own" timeshifer, has anyone looked into what it would take for Slimserver to mesh with an external application like Replay Radio or Replay Music (any others?)? Could a plugin be written? I know that Roku is actively communicating with the developers of Replay Radio to develop seamless integration of timeshifting plus a few other goodies...
cool, why not ask roku if they want to make it open source?
Roku open source? Are you joking? I was hoping that the folks at Applian (Replay Radio, etc.) might (because of Roku) be working on broader, hopefully non-proprietary support of server based streaming players in general. BTW: The folks at Applian I emailed about this had =no idea= what a "Squeezebox" or "SlimServer" was. Someone needs to educate them.
yes, I'm joking...weren't you?
No... I wasn't joking. I read somewhere a "deal" was in the works between Applian and Roku... but after Seans 44.1/16 post, I get it. :) Funny indeed.
