Selecting New Music from the menu either takes very long (several minutes) and the player halts and looses contact with server while waiting, or the server crashes.

Could you please give the latest 7.8 nightly build a try? I added some changes to the New Music query which would hopefully fix this issue.

I have tested the 7.8 nightly on my secondary server (Acer homeserver with WHS 1.x and no plugsins/ extras) for some days now and this looks very promising.

I will test on my primary server during the weekend - with plugins (mostly Erland's).
