Bugzilla – Bug 17914
New Music list stalls out after extended periods of non use.
Last modified: 2013-09-17 03:49:49 UTC
After an extended period of non use, the new music list becomes unresponsive for a minute or more. Eventually it will come up. Looking into the error log I always find the following error when it happens. [12-02-29 12:49:33.7700] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (147) Error: Select task failed calling Slim::Web::HTTP::processHTTP: illegal file descriptor or filehandle (either no attached file descriptor or illegal value): at /<C:\PROGRA~2\SQUEEZ~1\server\SqueezeSvr.exe>Slim/Networking/IO/Select.pm line 150. ; fh=Slim::Web::HTTP::ClientConn=GLOB(0x833e9dc) This has been happening as far back as 7.7.1 for sure. I'm currently running 7.7.2 r33862. It happens from the web interface and controller apps like iPeng and Squeezecommander. Please give the latest 7.8 nightly build a try. I added some tweaks to (hopefully) improve behaviour of the New Music browsing.

(In reply to comment #3) > Please give the latest 7.8 nightly build a try. I added some tweaks to > (hopefully) improve behaviour of the New Music browsing. I have tested the 7.8 nightly on my secondary server (Acer homeserver with WHS 1.x and no plugsins/ extras) for some days now and this looks very promising. I will test on my primary server during the weekend - with plugins (mostly Erland's).
Works much better for me, significant speed improvement. Thanks!
Performance improvements are never final. But let's consider this fixed anyway. Thanks for testing!
