Bugzilla – Bug 17497
Display output on SB3 broken since update to 7.6.1
Last modified: 2012-01-06 18:56:01 UTC
Seem like I'm not the only one with this issue: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Squeezebox-Players/SB3-with-no-display/m-p/673544#M3722 So time to file a bug. I've got a problem with one of my SB3s since upgrading to r33148 It shows completely wrong information. For example, when it's off, it doesn't show anything at all. The screen saver settings are correct and I updated every single one of them. When I play something, I don't get the current track but a "mysqueezebox.com ->" menu. My other SB3 that's on the same server and actually uses the same settings behaves normally. The offending SB3 also lost it's playlist during the update. It plays fine, though.
I can even confirm this: happened to me with a nightly too. Only one player. Switching to mysb and back fixed it. As did restarting the server for others. The server.log would show this: [11-08-17 21:05:38.3039] Slim::Networking::Slimproto::client_readable (426) Client not found for slimproto msg op: IR from 192.168.0.3 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89619&page=2#74 I've never been able to reproduce it, nor did I ever see it again.
I have similar problems with 7.6.1 The screen saver when turned off is blank yet the settings is for date and time (SB3 & Transporter) The screen saver when playing is just a random menu item yet the settings is “now playing” (SB3, works correctly for Transporter)
My brother has seen this problem on 7.6.1 with an SB2. A server restart fixed it. He is on MacOS. I can try to get more info if necessary, but I'm not sure if he knows how to reproduce it now.
> I can try to get more info if necessary, but I'm not sure > if he knows how to reproduce it now. Unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce this myself. Despite several server starts every day I've only ever seen this once on one single player. I guess it's some odd timing issue. But I wonder why it only showed up recently.
I wonder if this is MacOS only.

(In reply to comment #6) > It happened to me on Linux. Ah, OK. I saw you and pippin and thought you were both Mac.
Linux for me as well (ubuntu). Restarting the server helped and I didn't see it again, too.
Switch to MySB.com and back or restart Squeezebox Server generally fixes issue.
Win 7 x64 here.

Nobody's trying to fix this bug? No priority? I don't get it.
Same Problem here, switching to MySqueezebox and back to the server seems to help. 7.7 nightly on linux

Ugh, I've been beating my head against the wall playing with the settings, trying to fix this issue with my Transporter since upgrading from 7.5 to 7.7. Please fix this while we're young. We actually relied upon the display as a clock.
Boudy, try disabling any and all mysqueezebox.com integration, which is the source of many problems like this. Disable it at Settings > mysqueezebox.com > mysqueezebox.com Integration of the web interface. If you don't use mysb.com services you should also remove your login information on that same page. I even recommend going to mysqueezebox.com and deleting the player from your account.
