Description Jens Heisterberg 2005-06-05 08:37:17 UTC
My default language is Danish. After installing the SqueezeNetwork firmware,
the language on the display is sometimes English and sometimes Danish.
However, when I sign off from SqueezeNetwork, the language is Danish as it
should be.
Comment 1 Michael Herger 2005-06-05 12:25:04 UTC
This is not a bug per se, but simply lack of translation for the stuff used in
the SqueezeNetwork. Give Dan a mail (translate@slimdevices.com) if you want to
help out. It's not a lot to translate for the Squeeznetwork (did the german part
in a few minutes).

BTW: if you come across english texts in the slimserver - download my
stringeditor plugin from http://www.herger.net/slim/ and do the translation
yourself ;-). That's how I started my commitment to the slimserver community
started some time ago...

Strings used in Squeezenetwork

I hope Dan does not mind... Just in case you wanted to start your translation
work: here's the strings file used in the squeezenetwork as Dan sent them to
me. Feel free to download them, add your translations and send them back to
translate@slimdevices.com.

Please note: the format for strings is always:
{tab}NO{tab}your translation

...while "NO" represents the code for norwegian, I guess.

Let's disable the languages that we don't have 90% translations for.
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2005-06-07 20:54:53 UTC
I'd also like to see if we can get the strings.txt file for SN up on the web-based strings editor. what do
you think, michael?
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2005-06-07 22:59:12 UTC
About disabling: are you talking about SQN only or slimserver? Just be sure to keep a copy in case
somebody wants to continue the work... I'd hate to have to start all over again.

The stringeditor plugin is directly working on the strings in Slim::Utils::Strings and writing any change to .
slismerver-strings.txt. It does not read/write the server's own strings.txt. Now I don't know what you want it
to do:
- integrate in SQN's web interface (don't think so)?
- have it work with SQN's strings (hardly possible without integrating them in the slimserver's strings.txt)?
Comment 6 Blackketter Dean 2005-06-11 08:12:29 UTC
Re: disabling - I mean on SN, if we don't have a reasonably full translation, let's just disable that
language until we have one. The SlimServer behavior is fine.

Re: editor - I'd like to set up the old web-based (not SlimServer based) strings editor for the SN strings
so we can let folks help with the localizations. (The built-in webserver is disabled for SN).
Comment 7 Michael Herger 2005-06-12 01:46:37 UTC
I think the translator tool would need some work: quite a bit of its current code is handling getting the
latest strings file from the download section. This includes parsing web pages and stuff. Could we define
some simple url where it can get the latest file from? Or would you agree to include it somewhere,
somehow on your server? You then might want to "harden" it a little :-).
Comment 8 Blackketter Dean 2005-06-13 22:17:08 UTC
Dan: Can you make the current SN strings file available from that server? Then Michael can grab it from
there. Alternatively, Michael, we can host your CGI... Talk amongst yourselves...

*** Bug 1796 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 10 Andy Grundman 2008-03-31 07:55:06 UTC
Marking fixed as we now have SN fully translated.
Comment 11 James Richardson 2008-12-15 12:13:55 UTC
This bug has been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeNetwork!
