Description Mike 2010-04-16 17:41:47 UTC
I am running 7.5.1 r8707 on both an SB Touch and SB Controller connected to SBS 7.5.1 r30535 Debian build. They are both controlling the same SB3 using IRBlaster to control the volume on the Emotiva AV Processor. The volume onthe SB3 is set to be fixed at 100%. The SB Controller behaves exactly as it always has and as one would expect where as the SB Touch will not allow you to increase the volume as behaves as I have described below.

When using an SB Touch to control an SB3 with IRBlaster, volume control behaves as follows (note that SB3 volume is fixed at 100% and the audio is through the analog outs):

1. Pressing volume down on the SB Touch sends volume down IR blast to my AV processor (as it should) and decreases the volume.

2. Pressing volume up on the SB Touch when the volume control on the SB Touch UI appears as though it is at 100% (since the SB3 is set fixed to 100%) results in no changes to the volume my AV Processor. Pressing the Volume up on the SB Controller in this same situation properly increases the volume on my AV Processor

3. Sliding the volume bar to far left on the SB Touch, sends a single IR Blast to to decrease the volume on my AV Processor (same as pressing Volume down once as in #1 above). Given the unique situation here, this is probably the best choice or result although maybe some would prefer that it was the equivalent of the same number of presses on the volume down button as it takes to get to the far left of the screen. I personally think either result is OK.

4. After sliding the Volume Bar to the left or pressing volume down multiple time on the SB Touch UI and the volume being decreased on my AV Processor, you have time to slide the volume to the right or press volume up before the UI resets to display the fixed volume of 100%. However what is truly peculiar, it that doing so actually further decreased the volume on my AV processor. Each time I pressed volume UP on the SB Touch UI, the volume on the AV Processor continues to decrease. Again when I attempt to do the same thing on the SB Controller, the volume increases as you would expect.

Thanks,
