Bugzilla – Bug 15881
Mac: default music library name -apostrophe displays incorrectly
Last modified: 2010-03-31 15:38:20 UTC
Created attachment 6635 [details] preferences pane, library tab on mac Mac OSX 10.6 and 10.5.8 1) Fresh install of SB server (7.5.0 r30360) 2) Go to SB preference pane, click on the 'library' tab 3) the field named 'Music Library Name' is pre-populated 4) The default name is User's MacBook Pro (where 'user' is the current user) 5) In the latest builds on mac, the apostrophe shows as the letter 'a' with a caret on top. > 6) The SB touch displays this name correctly, the boom does not. 7) The windows version does not provide a default name or pre-populate the fields 8)See attached screenshots
Created attachment 6636 [details] machine name in mac info (looks correct)
Created attachment 6638 [details] computer name defined in "Sharing" Could you please paste the computer name as you can find it in the Sharing pref pane? As for the default on Windows: we used to be using the user's name, but people didn't like it, as it often was eg. "mh" instead of "Michael". See bug 12099 for details.
Created attachment 6641 [details] replace fancy apostrophe with a non unicode version ...as slimproto can't handle unicode anyway. See bug 15882 too.
Created attachment 6646 [details] Mac name in Sharing pane Shows the computer name from that 'Sharing' pane in SysPrefs
