Bugzilla – Bug 12099
"Library Name" default string should use "long" username
Last modified: 2009-10-05 14:27:31 UTC
On my Mac, I have the short username"rabid3k" and a long name "Matthew Weldon" (the name I use when prompted to allow a software insatllation or other major change etc.) When choosing a default string for the "library name" after SC installs, we should be using the "long" username, not the "short" one (so the default library name in this case would be "Matthew Weldon's Music Library").
This appears to be one way to get the long name on Mac OS X: dscl . -read /Users/`whoami` RealName
Just making sure Matt is cc'ed on all of these, per his email request.
I propose that we move this back to the computer name. Matt: That would, at least on a Mac, make the default "Matt's Computer", which is pretty good.
change 26740 - default to machine name again.
