I would like to be able to user the SBB to read content of a upnp enabled nas, without the need to buy a new one in the list of supported nas.

DLNA support would be the best. Also SMB client could help to alleviate the problem, allowing me to navigate storage space.

All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform.
We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or
which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.
